2. The Cable Won't Lock (Won't Charge)
If the pin isn't sliding into the holes of the Type 2 cable to secure it:
  • Check for debris: Inspect the locking holes on the cable plug and the charge port for small stones or dirt. If the pin can't find a clear path, the car will refuse to initiate a charge. 
  • Lubricate the mechanism: The pin servo might be sticking. Gently lift the locking pin with a thin tool or screwdriver, and apply a small amount of silicone spray (do not use harsh solvents like WD-40, which can degrade the plastic and rubber seals). 
  • Plug it in fully: Push the plug fully and firmly into the vehicle, as some pins require the plug to be seated at the exact millimeter threshold to trigger the locking motor.
