Size of battery lets say 100kWh (Every car is different) so 20% 0f that is 20kWh. Then divide by charge rate. So our granny charge at 240V/10A which is 2.4kW but there are always charge losses in the car so say 2kW charge rate. So, 20kWh divide by 2kW gives 10 hours.
